Blogging Guidelines

Posting and Commenting/Response Guidelines

We are working to develop our blog to connect with students and discuss a variety of topics. Our post may express opinions and facts about these topics done in a respectful way and always agree to disagree when needed.

Always remember these few very important guidelines.

#1 Take care of your digital privacy – Use your first name only to identify yourself. Leave off your home email, your street address, phone number, or school name. Don’t share specifics of your daily routines that involve time and location (i.e. where and when your cheer practice is.)

#2 Be aware of your tone when commenting – Be polite, friendly, and encouraging. Have a sense of humour, but be careful with sarcasm. If you disagree, don’t be rude, give helpful feedback.

#3 The content of your comment is important – Stay on topic and make sense. Say something about the original post. Avoid random stuff and being silly. Steer clear of texting shortcuts language. Sometimes end with a question to keep the conversation going. Be sure to include your blog url (address) so the blogger knows where to find you.

#4 Grammar Conventions still matter – Always proof read before posting or publishing a blog or comment and or response. Capitalization and punctuation checks are a way to keep your writing clear as well.
